A Word From Our Executive Director - May 2, 2012
On April 23, 2012, I, along with Sam Warren, Matt Larkin, Rick Qualls, Angela Stibitz, Heath Simpson, Logan Mullis and our five regional superintendents, attended the 2012 Exponential Conference in Orlando, Fla., on church planting. Over 5,000 church planting leaders came together for this four-day event, which proved to be very informative, inspirational, motivating and challenging. The general sessions featured Wayne Cordeiro, Bill Hybels, Rick Warren and a number of testimonials from men and women who are on the front line of the church planting movement. We heard of the successes, as well as the heart breaks that are a part of the environment associated with attempts to plant new churches.

LATIN AMERICA AREA DIRECTOR JOHN GILBERT

Pastor Miguel Arellano is in the middle of his trip to Mexico City to “hopefully” finalize the last step in formalities for the conference as well as register the churches that have joined since his last trip to Mexico City. Normally this means he is out of communication until his return next week. Pray for safety of travel and God’s presence in the hearts of the people he is working with for a complete processing of all of the paperwork.

Pastor Samuel Madrigal has agreed to contact all of the Ensenada churches to help find reliable Christians that will help to meet staffing needs in San Felipe.

IF Update - May 2, 2012
I am finding that the closer I am to the Lord, or at least think I am, the more I sense him prompting me to think about others. It seems to be true, that the lower I am in terms of my circumstances in life, the higher I am spiritually as he walks with me, and the more I can pray for others to be blessed.

As I write these words, I am drawn to that very familiar Psalm (23) where David declares the same thing. He wrote, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me” (v. 4).
