A Word From Our Executive Director - September 21, 2011 |
As this issue of the E-news is being sent out, I’m cruising in an Airbus 321 at 37,000 feet on my way home from a six-day visit with our friends and family in the Northwest. The trip included a breakfast on Friday morning with the men at the West Valley Community Church. Also on Friday and Saturday, I met with the Ministry Oversight Team for the Pleasure Point Community Church. Pastor Paul Sellman traveled up from Santa Cruz, California, to Auburn, Washington, to meet with those serving as members of the team; all gathering in the home of Brad and Janelle Neil for meals and meetings. On Sunday, I accompanied Clio and Kathleen Thomas to Sedro-Woolley Community Fellowship where we had the joy of celebrating the Lord’s Day with this family of believers. |

Ashland Advent Christian Church Welcomes Bikers
Bike4Christ riders arrived in Fort Kent, Maine, around 5 p.m. Sunday, September 11, 2011. Some of them had come all the way from Key West, Florida, while others joined along the route. After snapping dozens of photos at the two markers and visiting Canada on behalf of the rider from Vancouver, they all piled into vehicles to head back to Ashland for supper. On Monday night, they gathered again at the church to share their stories, as well as desserts from each of the states they had traveled through made by the church ladies.

IF Update - September 21, 2011 |
This week I found myself in the beautiful Northeast section of the United States. I am privileged to have the opportunity to travel and see all four corners of this amazing country we live in.
Driving the streets of New York City can be quite the experience for anyone. There are so many people, cars, graffiti, noises and experiences just waiting to happen. One such visual sight these days that no one can miss is the new Freedom Tower.
Who can forget September 11, 2001? What a tragic day for the United States and hundreds of families that lost loved ones. But now, 10 years later, we are beginning to see the signs of new life. |
