A Word From Our Executive Director - March 21, 2012
In 1986, the Advent Christian denomination became a member of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE). Since 1942, NAE has served as a voice for the evangelical community, addressing social and political issues that have been of interest and importance to the Christian Church. They have been the provider of timely and critical information that characterizes the world we live in. There is the regular attempt to inform, as well as to offer suggestions of how the Christian community can influence perception, trends and even legislation that embrace Christian values. A tool that NAE has employed to keep the evangelical community informed is their quarterly bulletin insert.

NORTH CAROLINA
Eric Dixon was ordained into the ministry on Sunday, March 11, 2012, at the Garner Advent Christian Church. Eric grew up in the Garner church and is currently serving as the Pastor of Community and Connection at Northside Community Church in Knightdale, N.C. Eric and his wife, Megan, see ministry as a team effort. Eric is finishing up his Masters of Divinity degree at Campbell University and is currently considering Ph.D. work.

Announcements & Upcoming Events - March 21, 2012
Florida Annual Church Conference
The Florida Annual Church Conference meeting will be held March 29 – 31. It will begin on Thursday evening with the ladies presenting a worship hour of music. Friday, the conference Executive Board will meet at 1:30 p.m., followed by a worship time together that evening. Saturday at 9:00 a.m., the conference business meeting will begin with a communion time together, followed immediately by the business session.

AFRICA EUROPE AREA DIRECTOR RUSSELL CARLE
Simon Bissah improves dramatically.

In answer to many of your prayers, the president of our Advent Christian Conference in Ghana has improved dramatically. He has been suffering from many symptoms; the cumulative effect of which are life threatening. They include tremendously high blood pressure, serious stomach ulcers, a distended abdomen, weakness, lack of appetite and an inability to move or sleep. He successfully underwent an endoscopy yesterday to seek a diagnosis. While waiting to receive the diagnosis for his troubles, he has seen a steady improvement of the worst of his symptoms.

IF Update - March 21, 2012
Forgiveness is an amazing thing. It is not something to take lightly. However, many people live their lives from day to day and never experience the blessing that it is to be forgiven. I think this is one of the reasons that people are grumpy. Their lack of forgiveness is replaced by a crusty outside behavior that can keep others at a distance. This way, they will not have to let on that they are hurting and in need of love and care from those around them.

Without Christ, people have nothing else to turn to that will soften that exterior, so they plow through life and keep most of those who care about them at a safe distance.
