90TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
We at West Jacksonville Advent Christian Church are approaching a milestone in our ministry. On February 22, 2009, we will be celebrating 90 years of ministry as a body of believers. Our celebration will begin with our worship service at 10 a.m. to be followed by food and fellowship afterwards. All past and present members are invited to come, and we are hoping to feature these folks as part of the service. They will serve as a reminder of our past blessings, and we would also be able to renew friendships. We are praying that many of our former members will be able to be with us for this celebration.

VIRGINIA
Monterey - Rev. Donald Rose and his wife, Ruby, completed a very successful 15-year pastorate of the Victory Chapel AC Church in Highland County. They retired on December 31, 2008, and moved to the AC Village in Dowling Park, Fla. The Church grew both numerically and spiritually during their ministry. He became well-known throughout the county, performing many marriages and funerals. He also stayed very involved in the Conference, serving on the board of Camp ACCOVAC and, also, as chairman of the ministerial board.

Last weekend in Ensenada, Mexico, children’s Sunday school leaders from the majority of our Mexican churches gathered to attend a conference-wide training course titled, “Apacienta mis Corderos” (Feed my Lambs). John Gilbert, Mexican Ministry team leader, and Sister Eva, wife of Pastor Samuel Avalos-Madrigal, led the training aimed at instructing participants in how to conduct this children’s Christian education program locally. Attendees were also presented “care packages” of Sunday school materials (glue, crayons, pencils, paper, etc.) for their churches by 99 Plus 1 ministry.
