World Outreach - July 22, 2009 |
FROM THE LATIN AMERICA AREA DIRECTOR
“Forward Ho!”
The current situation in Honduras and the upheaval to the Christian community has caused, at a minimum, the cancellation of the “Cristo Salva” team to co-minister with the Honduran people. In southern Mexico, the Christian community is being persecuted by the local socialist/communist movements with the encouragement, if not the support, of the local non-protestant churches.

 PHILIPPINES
It doesn't seem possible that we've completed a month of school already! CANDOR students will have preliminary exams this week.

Both Ronah and Vanessa have "hit the ground running," as we say in the States. They are sharing devotional thoughts with the Agape family, the CANDOR staff and faculty, and the mothers working in the income-generating program. |

IF Update - July 22, 2009 |
I like food, but it’s not the most important thing in my life. A good reminder of this was an experience my wife and I had this past weekend.
On a trip to North Carolina (from Fla.), we decided to stop by the beautiful city of Savannah, Ga., and eat at the well-known restaurant, “The Lady & Sons.” In case you’re not familiar with it, it’s a family restaurant owned by Paula Deen and her sons. It is known for its good ole country cooking.
Shelly and I arrived on the scene at about 10 a.m., knowing that they started to take names for lunch around 9:30 a.m. |
