A Word From Our Executive Director - May 27, 2009

The second triennial convention of the Southern Advent Christian Association assembled at the Wyndham Conference Center in Peachtree, Ga. The sessions began on Thursday evening, May 21, and concluded on Sunday, May 24. The theme for the gathering was built upon the passage in Exodus 14:9 - 15 (NLT ) where God is telling his people “ . . . to Get Moving!” The event accommodated workshops, seminars and times for business, fellowship and worship. Newly elected officers for the region are: President, Rev. John Harper; Secretary, Mrs. Mary K. Barber; Treasurer, Rev. Glenn Fell.

FIFTH SUNDAY - MAY 31
Fifth Sunday Offerings are a means for Advent Christian Churches to support the ministry of Advent Christian Village (ACV) in Dowling Park, Florida. This valuable partnership has assisted ACV with its important mission of showing Christ’s compassionate love to senior adults, families with special needs and children for many years. FROM THE WORLD OUTREACH DIRECTOR
Good day, fellow disciples of Jesus Christ. May he become nearer, dearer and clearer to you.

IF Update - May 27, 2009
This past week, I attended the SACA (Southern Advent Christian Association) convention held in Peachtree City, Ga., at the Wyndham Hotel. It was a beautiful setting and a great opportunity to see friends and many others who are part of the Advent Christian work in the Southern Region.

The program was well done, and the worship inspiring. I particularly enjoyed the theme of “Get Moving!” Sunday morning. Rev. Brent Ross shared a message taken from Exodus 14, recording an experience in the life of the Israelites when they were told to “get moving,” otherwise they would be overtaken by the Egyptians.

MALAWI / MOZAMBIQUE
Dear Brothers, greetings in the name of our dear Lord Jesus Christ. The Malawi and Mozambique Advent Christian Conference is fine despite the hunger situation we are going through, particularly in the districts of Nsanje and Chikwawa in Malawi and Mutarara in Mozambique. Let God’s hand be upon us!

In March, there was an open-air crusade conducted at Nyumbo village in Mozambique, and there were some who confessed their sins and accepted Jesus as their personal savior.
