We are pleased to report that the work on the campus and buildings at the denominational offices in Charlotte, N.C., continues; thanks to the generous support of individuals, churches and conferences. The interior work in the main area of the upstairs offices is approaching a near-finished look. Mr. Bill McAdam is applying the attention to detail and will soon be addressing the walls and stairway at the main entrance. As the projects are being completed on the inside, necessary ground work outside has been accomplished as well. Thanks go to Mr. Mark Cash, owner of Cash Landscaping Co., as he has donated his expertise, equipment, fuel and days of labor to recover our front lawn and replace the unmanageable shrubbery that was as old as the building. Mr. Steve Thigpen, Vice President of R.S. Braswell Co., also provided equipment and fuel for us to remove stumps and haul off the downed trees and excess soil.

I had to chuckle a bit the other day when I purchased a carton of milk to go along with a breakfast sandwich. Before I bought the milk the lady informed me that she only had “organic” milk. I said, sure why not? I must admit that I said yes, even though I didn’t really know what organic milk was. As I sat down to enjoy my breakfast meal I read the following label on the front of the milk carton: “Produced without ANTIOBIOTICS, added GROWTH HORMONES or PESTICIDES!” As far as I could tell, I didn’t need these things anyway.

According to the Bible, it’s important for each of us to consider very carefully what we take into our bodies. We are the temple of the Lord. But, more importantly, it’s absolutely essential that we watch what comes out of us. Jesus once said that this makes a powerful statement about the condition of our heart.
