The new 2010 Penny Crusade material was sent out to all of our churches last week. We are very excited about this year's campaign, "Lives Connected - Love Perfected," as we highlight several of our outreach fields. If your church does not receive the material in the next few days, please contact ACGC at 1-800-676-0694 or acpub@acgc.us to request your copy. You may also view the videos, download clipart and all of the written material at www.pennycrusade.com.

FLORIDA
McAlpin Advent Christian Church Makes Plans for Lent.
The McAlpin Advent Christian Church will participate in a 40-day devotional, scriptural prayer guide called, "Seek God for the City." From the 40 days, not counting Sundays, beginning on February 17 through Palm Sunday (March 28), the church members will use the daily devotional containing prayers of biblical hope to seek the Lord's guidance during Lent.

Pastor Paul A. Bertolino stated, "We have enough prayer guides on hand to give to any visitor during the Lenten season. This is so important to us, and we want to include as many as possible from our community and Suwannee County. All children will receive a daily devotional corresponding with the adults so families can learn to pray together." The church is also planning to begin a membership/baptism class on February 21 at 9:45 a.m. and will be team-taught by the pastor and the Rev. Dr. David Dean. Dr. Dean's book, “Resurrection Hope,” will be used for the class and is free to all who attend. For further information, call the pastor at 386-658-1048.

FROM THE AFRICA/EUROPE AREA DIRECTOR

Our Advent Christian family in Malawi and Mozambique lives in a semi-arid land. Because of this they routinely have experienced drought and the hunger that goes with it. Once more, their family in North America has tried to give some small testimony of love and concern. In January, we sent $1,000 to Malawi to help feed people. We have just gotten back a big “thank you” from them via their conference president, Samuel Sosono.

IF Update - February 10, 2010

Every time I get the opportunity to be involved in an activity where Christians gather just to listen to the Lord and give consideration to what he is telling them, I do it. This time, the place is in northeast Georgia at the beautiful retreat center known as Winshape. It’s located on the 28,000-acre campus of Berry College and is dedicated to gatherings of this nature. Earlier today, as I sat around the table and listened to a number of believers share their thoughts about the Word, I was encouraged. This is what it’s supposed to be like I thought, but quite often my heart is not encouraged, especially when I see and hear those who say they walk with Christ spend much of their time disagreeing over things that don’t matter much in terms of the kingdom. What must Christ think as he listens in on our thoughts and words?
