FROM THE ASIA/PACIFIC AREA DIRECTOR
As I write this, Ernie Schache has arrived in Thailand, and will soon be joined by Tim Fox. They will be spending time with John and Maeo Middlewood. John and Maeo have been doing a significant work in Thailand, especially among young people, but also with their families. Following his retirement, John and Maeo felt the call of Christ to serve Him in Thailand. They are self-supporting servants of Christ, but do need the gifts of Christ’s people to carry on an enlarging ministry. Any funds which are sent for the work in Thailand do not go to their salaries, but directly into the ministry. Thailand is one of our younger fields where Advent Christians are working reaching the world for Christ.

IF Update - January 20, 2010

Birthdays are interesting milestones in the life of a person. Each year, we grow older and hopefully more mature.I can still remember watching our kids grow up. Friends who had not seen our boys for some time would remark how much they had grown since the last time they saw them. Apparently, when one is in a close relationship with someone it is not as easy to notice the changes.

Recently, my wife had a birthday. I remember asking her if she felt older. She shrugged her shoulders and said, “Not really!” I know exactly what she means. Growing physically is progressive and almost unnoticeable. It’s almost like watching paint dry. It’s happening but it’s very hard to observe.

This is also true for us spiritually.
