Jeff Bogue

It seems crazy to think that it has been almost three years since ACGC held its last Leaders Conference, but it’s true. Those who attended the conference still talk about what a great time was had by all. The setting (The Cove, Asheville, N.C.) was absolutely beautiful and a perfect place for such a gathering. The program was uplifting and challenging. On top of all this, the fellowship shared by those who attended continues to be a highlight.

The good news is that we are going back to The Cove, Tuesday through Thursday, April 5 – 7, 2016, and plans are being made for another great experience. Next year’s theme is one that should be enticing to everyone. We are going to focus on what should happen when we spend time with Jesus whether it be in a discipleship relationship, prayer or any other type of life experience or ministry. Our first keynote speaker, Dr. Jeff Bogue, is booked and the rest of the program is being put together. More details will be coming in the near future as well as complete instructions on registering for the event.

Please plan even now to make this event a priority for the year 2016. We know that God will honor your commitment to join us for this great time of being together as God’s people. For more information, go to . or

The Boone Advent Christian Church in Boone, N.C., is currently seeking candidates for a Christian Education Minister/ Director. The Boone Advent Christian Church is located in the heart of downtown Boone, basically across the street from Appalachian State University. We are the small, gray rock church on highway 421 North toward Tennessee. The church was built in 1926 and has a membership of approximately 110 active members. Our veterans and their families have sacrificed much for their country, and many continue to pay a great price even when they return from deployment. Many veteran families go through a number of difficulties when they return home. It takes a special church and family to minister to these brave warriors and to walk with them as they seek to heal and readjust to life at home.

We have recently become aware of a website that can help address some these needs. This website shows many of the issues that veterans have. This website is for the veterans, but it could be used by pastors to see what veterans are going through. Pastors can learn so much of life within the military through these videos.

It can also be helpful for pastors to steer veterans to such a website because it shows that they are not alone in their struggle. To find more, please visit .

Back in September of 2007, we introduced as a proven search engine that donates half its revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. ACGC has benefited from this service with an average of about $25 being generated per month. When using the Goodsearch tool, be sure to log in before searching or ACGC will not earning anything.

We want to encourage more to use this search engine, as the benefits could only increase for our denomination. It costs you nothing and it costs us nothing. But it pays all of us to use this service. You use it just as you would any search engine, and it’s powered by Yahoo!, so you get great results. Just go to and be sure to enter Advent Christian General Conference as the charity you want to support; then login. You can add as a toolbar on your computer or you can attach it as a foot note on your e-mails. Please help us share with others the benefits of this resource.
