From ACGC – May 1, 2019

                                  Guest Speaker Kevin Peck

As you are reading this, our Leadership Conference “Passing the Mantle” is happening in Waymart, Pa. We have leaders from across North America and some from other countries joining us for this event. As you know, leadership development is a critical area for our churches – both to fill our vocational leadership for pastors, missionaries and church planters, but also for lay leadership working in the church and communities. The key to developing leaders starts in the local church as current leaders identify emerging leaders within the fellowship and begin to nurture them into leaders in their churches and communities. The desire in our “Passing the Mantle” conference is to develop strategies for pastors to do this very thing. Please be in prayer for the meetings this week and for travel on Thursday and Friday as we all head home. I hope your pastor attended and encourage you to ask about the conference and how your church can identify and develop emerging leaders.

Matt Larkin, Jack Mumford and Adrian Dixon are heading up our Missional Training Institute program that will begin in the fall of 2019. Through this program, emerging leaders who feel called to vocational ministry either full time or bi-vocationally can receive training while remaining close to home. If you or someone you know would be interested in MTI program, speak to your pastor, regional superintendent or call ACGC (704-545-6161) so that we may put you in contact with a field director in your area. We are excited about what God has in store for our denomination as we strive to be faithful to disicpling new leaders in the body of Christ.

Please keep Cabrizos family in your prayers over the next week as they visit with family in New York and then make their way home. It was great to have them in our offices in Charlotte and visiting with a number of our churches in the area. Please remember Erwin and Rowena as they continue to work in the Agape House Ministries around the world and with International Missions in a number of countries.
