From ACGC – November 20, 2019

The International Outreach Advisors (IOA)* met here in Charlotte last week with Director of International Missions Jeff Walsh along with Africa/Europe Area Director Bryce Whiting and Latin America Area Director John Gilbert. The purpose of this committee is to give feedback and support to the ministries of ACGC around the world. During the four days of meetings from Monday to Thursday, we heard ministry updates from Jeff, Bryce and John. Such meetings are opportunities for interaction, encouragement and prayer with our leadership across the globe.

                                                                                       Prayer for the Yoons

In the course of the meetings, we had a chance to meet and interview Russell and Pohn Yoon and their daughter Anda. Pohn grew up near the Christian Mission in Naratchakwai, Thailand (CMN) and had John Middlewood’s wife Maeo as her elementary school teacher. Pohn’s sister was one of the students in the mission – a leader during her time there and now a teacher in Bangkok.

The Yoons plan to retire near CMN. Russell and Pohn want to serve with Maeo and the Mission as Advent Christian missionaries. Russell has completed the Perspectives course, and Jeff continues to work with him as he prepares for the move to Thailand later in 2020.

Please be in prayer for the Yoon family as they get ready for mission work and also for CMN. The Thailand ministry certainly fits into our plan to reach unreached people groups, and our work with the Yoons is a great example of a partnership to share the gospel around the world.

* International Outreach Advisors include Frank Jewett, David Van Huisen, Jim Jensen, Rob Buchanan and Sam Walsh.
