On October 24-26, the Eastern Region held their yearly convention at Blessed Hope Church in Waterville, Maine. This year’s theme was “Casket Empty,” which is an overview of the Scriptures. Dr. David Palmer shared how God had a plan from the beginning. He covered the Old Testament on Thursday and the New Testament on Friday, concluding with the second coming of our Lord. Dr. Palmer is a full-time pastor and adjunct faculty member at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. Everyone received a copy of either the Old or New Testament book related to the presentation.
On Friday, there was a town hall gathering to share about positive happenings in conferences and churches and discuss needs and concerns of regions.
The more than 100 convention participants enjoyed the fellowship and the presentation. On Saturday, the regional conference session was called to order by President George Karl. Reports from regional partners Advent Christian Retirement Communities, Berkshire and BICS were given during the conventions.
Eastern Regional Superintendent Greg Twitchell was not able to be at the meetings due to severe back pain. Please keep Greg in your prayers as he recovers from this painful condition.
