News From Our Churches – November 13, 2019

Gratefully submitted by Pastor David Young:

On November 3, 2019 the Advent Christian Church of North Springfield, Vermont celebrated their 150th Anniversary. During a special morning worship service, current and former members gathered to share memories and hear from a few current and former leaders of the church. Former pastors Rev. Bill Monroe and Rev. Floyd McIntyre joined current pastor David Young in sharing memories about being in leadership in the North Springfield area as well as what the future may hold. A roll call was conducted of the active membership and non-members were invited to share during the service. After the celebration, everyone attended a fellowship meal downstairs.

The membership of the Advent Christian Church of North Springfield would like to share its grateful praise to everyone that has been part of the life and ministry of the church. We mutually agree that God has not yet concluded his work in that area of Vermont and we invite you to add our life and ministry to your prayer list that once again people might see firsthand the powerful work of God in changing lives in the local community.

Dr. Cynthia Lee, medical missionary for Advent Christian Missions gets all dressed up for church at Banner Chapel AC Church in Benson, N.C., after the congregation reaches their Penny Crusade goals.

As we look back at our history, it’s obvious that our work in International Missions has always been a major component to Advent Christian General Conference’s work. Penny Crusade giving has largely supported the annual budget of our missions department and reflects the heart of our churches to see the gospel spread throughout the world. To all the churches that have participated in Penny Crusade: thank you!
