2020 Fellowship Church Golf Challenge

TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. – Friday, October 9, was a beautiful day for golf, and an even better day for AC World Missions! Fellowship Advent Christian Church of Bethlehem hosted their annual charity golf tournament on that date at Brushy Mountain Golf Club in Taylorsville, this year totally for the benefit of AC Penny Crusade for Missions. Honored guest for the event was Director of International Missions Jeff Walsh, who along with sons Ethan and Joshua and brother Sam formed one of the 17 teams that competed.

Jeff led the assembled golfers with a brief devotional thought, then challenged them to put a sticker with their name onto a world prayer map that he had brought along for the occasion. It was inspiring to see the map nearly covered with potential prayer warriors! Thanks to the commitment of 33 personal corporate sponsors ($150 each), plus a number of other generous donors, the Fellowship Church Golf Challenge for 2020 raised just over $6,200 for Penny Crusade (in addition to more than $18,000 that the church had raised during its regular Penny Crusade emphasis in the spring.) Amazing what the Lord can do in a day, and give you a great time doing it!

The team pictured is the team of Andrew and Sydney Auton, Drew Dyson, and Adam Huffman, who shot a 62 to win the B flight. Andrew and Sydney are the children of Fellowship Church’s head deacon, Kris Auton.
