46 Unchurched Husbands Hear Gospel; 16 Saved

MOZAMBIQUE – A Husbands and Wives Training Day it was called. The church in Mozambique recognized that their congregation was largely women and worked to address the issue. Husbands who do not normally attend church were given hand-written personal invitations to come to a marriage seminar where the gospel also was preached. The invitations were personally delivered and the response was very rewarding as 46 unchurched husbands came to the seminar.

Conference President Samuel Kasakatira opened the day by extending a word of welcome. The first teaching must have been very satisfying to the husbands when (wife) Grace Kasakatira spoke on ways that a wife could show respect to her husband. The husbands were then primed and ready to accept a word for them from Pastor Dezmata Nkuziwalera on Genesis 2:18-23. Closing songs, a challenge to know the Lord and lunch brought a fitting end to the seminar.

Some did not leave before promising to be in church the following day. With great hopes the church continued in prayer for the souls of these family men. When Sunday arrived some husbands indeed were present with their wives and children. Pastor Kasakatira writes, “16 husbands today surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ as Lord. Their wives witnessed this great time and with joy were singing the chorus “Ndinali wosochera Ambuye ndabwera” which means, “I once was lost but have now come to you, Lord.”

Let’s continue with them to pray for radically changed lives as they yield themselves to God.
