African Advent Christian Ministries Celebrate Easter

By Bryce Whiting, Africa/Europe Area Director

AFRICA – Our African brothers and sisters held nothing in reserve as they celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ this Easter season.

In the Calabar church of Nigeria, nine people gave their hearts to the Lord and were baptized.

In Malawi, there also were decisions to follow Christ into the waters of baptism.

In Tanzania, there was much dancing as Pastors Amos and Johnson returned from their journey to the Hadzabe.

In Mozambique, 11 churches combined to hold services of prayer, worship and the preaching of the Word. Without the benefit of public transportation, they committed themselves to walk to the event. Some walked a distance of 17 kilometers (10.5 mi.) to join the celebration. Eighty-one people gave their hearts to God and chose to be baptized, celebrating the death of the old man and the birth of the new man (photographed below).

If there is great joy over finding one lost sheep, one lost coin or one prodigal, try to imagine Heaven’s joy this past Easter season.
