An Update on the Spiritual Attack in Tanzania

Pastor Amos Komanya dances in worship

TANZANIA – Some readers will remember very recent vicious attacks against pastors in Tanzania. The stories continue to develop and God continues to be glorified.

Followers of Jesus Christ are considered enemies of witchdoctors in Tanzania, not only for the adverse power they possess, but for the great financial losses suffered when a client of the coven surrenders his/ her life to the Lord Jesus and no longer requires the services of a witchdoctor. One such local witchdoctor had been attending the church of Pastor Amos Komanya. She pretended to be a believer but was secretly looking for ways to kill him as she did her own husband (according to her family). Pastor Amos had been warned by others that this was a dangerous woman but he refused to tell her to leave, trusting that God was more powerful and that he would do something marvelous in her life.

One night she came with two other witches in a frontal attack. They circled the church with their chants, calling upon their dark powers. Pastor Amos was thrown to the floor in a paralyzed state. The nine church members present went to prayer for him, after which he recovered, and the three witches suddenly and inexplicably died. This power-encounter gave great testimony to the power of God as families and clients of the witchdoctors surrendered their lives to the Lord.

Last week, a funeral was held for the witch who had tried to infiltrate Pastor Amos’s church. As a testimony to the mercy of God, the churches acted together to purchase a coffin and a lot in the cemetery. One notable event was the burial itself of the deceased witch. According to tradition, when a witch is entering the ground, she must be seated in a special chair of honor. It is believed that a burial in any other position will surely bring a curse upon those interring her. The Christians at that service defied the powers of hell and buried the deceased in a reclining position. As a testimony to the power of God, no one has been harmed. Once again, the pastors presented the good news of eternal life through the gift of Jesus Christ, the Son of God and many people at that funeral service chose to give their lives to him. Many brought their charms and laid them at the feet of the pastors (who later destroyed the things brought before them) in total surrender to the God of Life.
