Pastor Appreciation Month is coming Up!

Your church should soon receive the mailing regarding this year’s Pastor Appreciation Month.

This year, we’d like to ask each and every member of your church to pause and reflect on some special way your pastor has ministered to you in the last year, and then write your pastor a short note of thanks. That’s it. We’re just asking that everyone in your church write your pastor a brief thank you note.

The William Miller home, farm and museum will be available to tour before the service. New Book from David E. Dean

Himes Publications announces a new book release: “Floods, Famines, and Wars: The American Advent Mission Society in China,” by David E. Dean.

This is an account of the faithful and dedicated efforts of the American Advent Mission Society’s missionaries in presenting the truths of the gospel both through evangelism/church planting and through compassionate deeds of family relief, flood reconstruction, orphanages, education and medical services. Despite numerous floods and resulting famines, and periods of military turmoil (both civil wars and World War II), the missionaries sponsored by the Advent Christian denomination remained at their work of sharing God’s love. Leading among theses missionaries were the pioneering couples: G. Howard and Helen Malone, and Z. Charles and Lizzy Cassidy Beals. Alongside them three other missionaries, Bertha Cassidy, Joseph Wharton and Hannah Stocks, worked in the country for a combined total of 128 years. This account of their faithfulness and service, despite adversity, will challenge the reader not only to praise God for their lives, but also to a renewed commitment to serve God with undivided passion and devotion.
