More on Bob Price’s “A High and Noble Mission”

This study was originally planned many years ago to be part of work of the Task Force on Advent Christian History that updated Albert Johnson’s material and focused on various aspects of our history. Dr. Clyde E. Hewitt produced the first three volumes: 1. (“Midnight and Morning”) focused on that early history, 2. (“Responsibility and Response”) centered upon our publication ministry, and 3. (“Devotion and Development”) studied the organization of the entire movement. Then, Dr. David A. Dean surveyed the international mission outreach (“Who Will Go for Us?”).

This final volume, “A High and Noble Mission,” deals with the church’s ministry among minorities; it involves the founding and early days of this denomination’s main mission society, the AAMS. In its effort to spread the good news, the Society founded new churches in the South and established elementary schools among the Freedmen, those being set free from slavery, in an effort to help them read the Bible. This historic ministry, during this country’s Reconstruction Era, was extended another 50 years with the dynamic ministry of A. J. Sanderlin, in and around the Memphis area, and through his progressive academy for minority young people.

Today, the Memphis church is a direct descendent of what is now more than a 150-year-old outreach ministry.

Bob Copeland Releases Two Books

Bob Copeland’s newest book, entitled, “Advent Christian Distinctives” is now available on Amazon (in Kindle-format only). Bob says of his book, “My convictions about our distinctives come from a deep study of scripture and a thorough examination of God’s character.”

His book, “Ready or Not, Here I Come!” is about the second coming of Christ. The second coming of Jesus Christ is, indeed, our blessed hope. One day soon, God the Father will turn to his Son, Jesus Christ, and say, “Go get My children!” Jesus will leap from his throne and come down through the clouds in his glorious return. There have been seasons of church history when the second coming has been neglected, forgotten, overlooked and rarely preached about. This vital doctrine was restored to the church in the 1800s. Today, we are in danger of forgetting this important truth once again. Come explore the hope of Christ’s second coming with me in this little book. Available on Amazon.
