Matt Larkin Stepping Down
It is with sadness that we report that Rev. Dr. Matt Larkin will be stepping down from his role as Coordinator of Leadership Development for ACGC. Matt has been an integral part of the team here at ACGC for the past 12 years, beginning his time as Assistant to the Director of Nurture, later launching the Department of Student and Family Ministries, and in 2017, creating the Department of Leadership Development. Along with his staff and numerous volunteers, Matt oversaw the creation of the Ministry Training Institute (MTI), which will see its first graduates from the Leadership in Ministry Certificate program later this year. Matt will be ending his time with ACGC on February 29, 2024, to accept a call as senior pastor of a church in Massachusetts. We are working out the details of a plan to ensure a smooth transition for MTI and its staff and students. This program is critical in addressing our denominational need for pastoral leadership and we are committed to maintaining its stability and success going forward. Matt’s contributions to the ministry of ACGC and our churches have been significant for more than a decade and his giftedness and passion will be greatly missed. Our denominational life is much richer because of Matt’s many contributions and we are grateful the Lord has allowed him to serve us these last 12 years. Please be in prayer for Matt, his wife Beth and their daughter Mallory, as they pursue this new ministry opportunity to which the Lord has called them.
