LaValle Advent Christian Church Seeks Part-Time Pastor
LaValle Advent Christian Church is accepting applications to hire a part-time Minister. The church is located in the village of LaValle, population 351 with a Sunday attendance of about 50 to 60 members.
The minister will be responsible to lead the congregation in worship services by preparing and delivering sermons and other talks. Must be able to interpret the Advent Christian Denomination and instruct people who seek conversion to our faith.
The minister will conduct wedding and funeral services, baptisms, administer religious rites or ordinances, visit sick and shut-ins, council those in spiritual need and comfort the bereaved.
The minister will oversee religious education programs and participate in church-sponsored functions. The minister will engage in interfaith, community, civic, educational and recreational activities sponsored by or related to the interest of the church.
Some experience is preferred. Must be able to relate to all ages, levels and nationalities. Ordination or a ministerial license in the Advent Christian Denomination or willing to accept credentials in the denomination are required.
Computer skills to use word processing software is preferred.

Advent Christian Village Annual Meeting
The annual delegate meeting of the Advent Christian Village, Inc., will be held Friday, November 19, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., in the Bixler Memorial Chapel, Dowling Park, Florida.
Each conference that is a member of the Advent Christian General Conference is a member of the corporation and entitled to one delegate for each one hundred members or major fractional part.
Conferences are invited to send delegates to this meeting. Each delegate should present duly authorized credentials from the appointing conference.

Darkness to Light Training Available for Your Church
Darkness to Light is a non-profit organization dedicated to “empowering adults to prevent child sexual abuse” (d2l.org). We offer a free two-hour certificate class to any church that is ready to equip their people to prevent, recognize and respond to incidents of child sexual abuse. ACGC has three certified facilitators on staff that will deliver this training as travel and schedule allows.
The facilitator-led group training utilizes the following:
- A two-part DVD presentation with commentary from sexual abuse survivors, experts in the field and concerned adults.
- Facilitator-led discussion emphasizing important issues in prevention within the community and organizations that serve children and youth.
- An interactive workbook facilitating discussion, reinforcing key concepts, and serving as a resource and personal action plan for resolving child sexual abuse(d2l.org).
D2L training will give you practical steps toward prevention and the framework to recognize children who may be in danger. The accompanying workbook contains valuable action steps that provide a path from abuse recognition to resolution. So far, we have trained 571 people. We would love to see that number increase as we work to make our churches safe havens for the children in our communities.
