ILLINOIS – With historical displays and an afternoon of fellowship, Aurora Advent Christian Church celebrated 163 years of ministry on Saturday, May 6.

“Celebrating the past, building the future” was the theme. The public was invited. Light refreshments were served.

Aurora Advent Christian Church published an updated history for its legacy celebration. A 24-page “Aurora Advent Christian Church 1860-2023” is based on a church history compiled by late church archivist Pauline Easley (1937-2023), which was revised and updated in May. With words and color photos, the latest history chronicles the founding of the Aurora church in 1854 through 2023 when Advent merged with Redeemer Community Church.
