Church Growth Continues Among the Hadzabe and Datooga Despite Missionary Absence

The Datooga tribe greets Amos Komanya

TANZANIA – Johnson Odoyo reports encouraging growth among the Hadzabe church, even when missionaries are not physically present. Some tribe leaders, now able to read Swahili Bibles, are spreading the gospel to other settlements with positive responses. Meanwhile, the Datooga church is also expanding rapidly. Community members reach out to a village elder with a cell phone to request prayer from Johnson and Amos Komanya, who pray with them over the phone. Several healings have reportedly occurred through these phone prayers, leading people to place greater faith in prayer over traditional medicine.

Despite some local prophets foreseeing challenges for Johnson and Amos, the missionaries intend to return on November 13 to demonstrate their faith and support the community’s continued spiritual growth.
