Cleaner Forms of Energy (1974-57)

Whereas  the United States contains 6% of the world’s population, yet uses 47% of its energy; and

Whereas   this reflects a gross imbalance in living standards among the nations; and

Whereas   such differences contribute to international pressures, often leading to armed conflict; now

Therefore be it Resolved that this body go on record as favoring extensive research for new, cleaner forms of energy that can be used to raise the living standards of underdeveloped nations as well as improving our own environment, and

Further  be it Resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the President of the United States with a letter urging him to continue to press Congress to implement the substance of this purpose so strongly promised in his inaugural address.
