Cristo Salva Feeding Program Thrives

by John Gilbert, Latin America Area Director

Thanks to Brother Enrique, his wife and the other members of the Honduran team that works with Cristo Salva in Honduras, one of the ongoing programs that is thriving is the feeding program for the children. In a recent online conference with the Cristo Salva leadership, I heard Enrique report the beautiful numbers to the US team. Most of the feeding programs are on a “once a week” schedule: Macuelizo, La Cumbre and Pinalejo. The largest of the programs is five days a week in Laguna Verde. Crunching the numbers, that means on the day all five programs are serving, a total of 685 children’s mouths are receiving food. If you include the additional four times per week the 360 children are fed in Laguna Verde, it adds up to 2,125 meals per week! A portion of that food is made possible by the WHFMS “Bread of Life” program. Thanks to all of you who support their program. The rest comes from Cristo Salva’s sponsors and general budget.

Cristo Salva would like to expand their feeding programs, as well as increase the amount they are providing to the Honduran leadership of Cristo Salva in their COVID-induced absence. Brother Enrique has been the on-site coordinator for the food programs that are scattered across the Santa Barbara district (state). Brother Enrique has forgone a regular job to assist in this Spirit-led calling. He also is mentoring the new pastor in La Cumbre, Pastor Jose Alexander and his wife Maria Laury, who have no biblical training.

Please pray for God’s provision for Cristo Salva and its ministries. If further interested, please contact Pastor Ray at pray@cristosalva.org or Carol Kline at development@cristosalva.org.
