DEM. REP. OF CONGO – On the 9th of August 2022, the Advent Christian Conference in the Democratic Republic of the Congo organized a Sunday school teachers’ workshop. The workshop was held at the Living Word Center in downtown Lubumbashi and was attended by 51 trainees from all the 51 Advent Christian churches that make up the DRC Advent Christian Conference. 

Instructors for the event included Advent Christian Conference President Reverend Bertin Mwanya, the Conference Director of Children’s Ministries Brother Smith Ivan Mulongo, and two from the local Scripture Union Office, Reverend Fidèle Kyungu and Brother Kapend Irung. 

Skills were sharpened by instruction in more effective Sunday school classes, children’s retreats, Christian camps and vacation Bible schools through such courses as: Understanding the World of Children, Understanding the Psychology of Children, Reaching Out to Children Through Evangelism, Counseling the Children and the Spiritual Qualifications of the Children’s Workers.
