Drought Relief Sent to Mozambique

By Bryce Whiting

MOZAMBIQUE – Mozambique is recognized by the World Bank as the third poorest nation in the world with a GNI (gross national income) of $460 per person. In rural areas where there is no industry the people rely on their own gardens to fill their bellies. To the dismay of the gardeners, the rainy season of October to December saw no rainfall at all. The dusty soil produced little reward for their hard labors with the most pressure resting on widows and the elderly. The Advent Christian Relief Fund sent some much-needed relief to Mozambique, which was shared with each of our churches.
