Pastor Timothy D. Fox, age 68, of Carson City, NV, passed away peacefully at home with his family, 6/16/19 after a long battle with cancer.
Born 4/27/51 in Washburn, ME to Harry and Shirley (Osborne) Fox. Tim is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ruth (Crouse) Fox; his son Jeremy and wife Cara and their two sons, Joshua and Benjamin; his son Jonathan and wife Christina. Tim was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He is also survived by his brother Bill and wife April and their six children of Monmouth, ME and his sister Debra of Fort Worth, Texas.
Tim first attended Berkshire Christian College. He graduated from Eastern Nazarene College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Religion and also with a Master of Arts in Religion in 1980. He was ordained in the Nazarene Church in 1977, and started serving in the Advent Christian Church in 1986.
Tim pastored Nazarene churches in Maine and Pennsylvania. He pastored the Oxford Advent Christian Church from 1986-1995 and Church of New Hope, Lewiston, ID from 1996-2005. From 2006-2011 he served as ACGC Missions Director. In 2011 he returned as pastor to Oxford Advent Christian Church but had to retire in 2014 due to health reasons. He and Ruth then moved to Carson City to be with his children and grandchildren. Tim had a pastor’s heart and loved ministering and serving his congregation and the community.
Tim was an avid hiker, fisherman, and hunter. He was blessed to pass his fishing skills on to his grandson, Joshua.
In later years of ministry, his favorite verse was 2 Peter 3:18. God’s grace was sufficient for him.
A memorial service was held June 18th at Connected Nazarene in Carson City. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the Oxford Advent Christian Church in Oxford, ME on September 1, 2019 at 3pm.
