The Crisis of Human Trafficking

World Day of Prayer gathering at the Advent Christian Village sponsored by the WHFMS

Recently, many joined together for the World Day of Prayer gathering at the Advent Christian Village sponsored by the WHFMS. Coordinator of Women’s Ministry Beth Larkin and Director of International Missions Jeff Walsh along with their families attended the gathering and shared about their ministries with ACGC.

WHFMS has a long history of support for international and North American missions. Beth Larkin has served the women’s ministry for many years working with Pam Buchanan and serving as Coordinator of Women’s Ministry. During this prayer conference, Beth shared about her research on human trafficking both in the United States and around the world. I have had the opportunity to talk with Beth about her research and broadening ministry in the crisis of human trafficking. Most of you know that Beth lives in Bangor, Maine and she has found that the horrors of trafficking have reached right into her hometown. Unfortunately, most of us would be shock to find out how close this terrible practice comes to our hometowns. Beth has been working with WHFMS groups to make them aware of the need to get involved with helping those who have been rescued from captivity. As Coordinator of Women’s Ministry, Beth would love to share with your women’s group or church about how you can get involved in ministering to these victims. If you are interested, give Beth a call at ACGC (704-545-6161 ext. 3508) and set up a time for her to share with your group.
