Rev. Jason Russell of Hope Community Fellowship Ordained

On Sunday, a number of us joined the Hope Community Fellowship of Mint Hill, N.C. for the ordination service of their pastor, Rev. Jason Russell. Jason has served the church for more than five years as pastor and also serves as regional director at Huntington Learning Center. Through Jason’s leadership, the church has been a light of Christian love in their community and around the Mint Hill area.

Jason is the son of former ACGC Director Richard Russell and his wife Linda. Jason is married to Dawn, daughter of former ACGC Executive Director Ron Thomas and his wife Jan. They have two sons, Wesley and Logan who have attended Covenant Classical School where Dawn serves as assistant head of school.

Rev. Brent Carpenter gave the ordination message, Rev. Art Stone gave charge to the pastor and Rev. Travis Hutcheson gave the charge to the church. Father Richard and father-in-law Ron both participated in the service along with Rev. Jim Lee and Rev. Dave Ross. It was a privilege to attend the service and join in the ordination prayer over this man who has answered the call to be a pastor in the Piedmont Conference.

Our Brothers from the North Lend a Hand at ACGC

ACGC was blessed with two servant-hearted men who came down from Connecticut to help out around the office and houses here in Charlotte. Africa/Europe Area Director Bryce Whiting and Bruce Fenn did a great job cutting down trees and trimming branches around the ACGC houses, the office and the woods near the office. It was great to have them here and to spend some time in fellowship with both of them through the week. They made their way back home Friday evening with our heartfelt thanks for their giving spirits!
