Important Meetings Across the Denomination

Last week was full of meetings! I started the week with International Missions Advisory Committee (IMAC) at Blowing Rock Campground in North Carolina on Tuesday. Director of International Missions Jeff Walsh led the meetings, which lasted from Monday night until Thursday afternoon. We discussed issues and reports from area directors representing fields from around the world. This time is a great encouragement to Jeff and to Catherine Rybicki (Missions Engagement) as they hear not only from area directors, but also from key mission supporters who have a heart for our missions’ outreach. During my time with the committee on Tuesday, it was reiterated that our desire was to focus our outreach on unreached people groups around the world, a major point of ACGC’s Strategic Plan.

On Thursday evening, I met via Zoom with Berkshire Christian board of trustees who were having their meeting at Camp Dixie near Fayetteville, N.C. They continued their meetings through Saturday morning, discussing future goals for Berkshire and the plans for the 125th Celebration of the school’s ministry. During my time on Thursday, we discussed Ministry Training Institute’s (MTI) future of becoming a non-profit organization and licensing in the state of Maine.

Friday, I flew up to New Hampshire to meet with the Alton Bay board. We met all day Saturday, discussing issues related to the ministries of Alton Bay Christian Retreat Center. Executive Director Brad Smith shared reports of their retreat ministry and the summer program for cottage owners in 2022. Even with part of the year’s COVID restrictions, Alton Bay has had a successful year. I encourage you to visit their website or plan a trip to send a few days enjoying the ministry program during the summer or work with your church to plan a retreat at the Conference Center.

One of my privileges as ACGC Executive Director is to serve on the boards of many of our associate members and all of our regional boards.
