As you no doubt know, the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria is causing massive suffering. The death toll is already in excess of 21,000 people, aftershocks will continue for some weeks, and people with limited resources are devastated. The situation there is very difficult.

While ACGC does not have any direct connections with any of these countries, we partner with the missions organization Missio Nexus that does have those connections. There are Missio Nexus member organizations that have long-term commitments to the cultures and people there. Some are already on the ground, doing what they can to assist. In the early days of a disaster like this, it can be confusing to know how best to direct your giving. Missio Nexus created a fund that will disperse to member mission agencies that have long-term commitments to serving the people of Turkey and Syria. This giving opportunity will only last for a few weeks as the funds are needed in the short-term.

You can pray for those that are trapped in rubble, the rescuers, that the international community would be generous, and that the church would show the love of Christ at this difficult time.
