Triennial Convention Updates

The 2023 Triennial Convention will be held August 7-11 at the Ridgecrest Conference Center in beautiful Ridgecrest, NC. This will be the first in-person Triennial since 2017. While registration is open for the convention and for lodging at Ridgecrest, we want to pass along some things that will make your registration experience as pleasant and efficient as possible.

Triennial Convention Registration

The cost for the for the Triennial Convention is $225 per person. This is lower that the registration cost in 2017! Those who are serving as delegates or attending workshops are required to register. There is no charge for children under 18 or guests who will only be attending the nightly services.

You can register online at acgc.us/triennial or by calling 704-545-6161. The last day to cancel and receive a refund for the ACGC Conference fee is July 15, 2023.

Lodging at Ridgecrest

We are pleased to announce that Ridgecrest is offering rates on lodging that are less expensive than the rates attendees paid at the 2017 convention. Room rates are $119 or $129 per night. There are no additional taxes or fees to this cost.

While there is a link at acgc.us/triennial for you to reserve your room at Ridgecrest, we have found that their reservation system is not the most user-friendly or intuitive. We would recommend that instead of using the online system that you call Ridgecrest at 800-588-7222 to reserve your room. Just tell them you are with Advent Christian General Conference. You must register no later than July 15.

Meals at Ridgecrest

Ridgecrest is offering two different meal plans for dining in their cafeteria for the duration of our convention. Again, Ridgecrest is offering our attendees an excellent value for these meal plans. One meal plan is $108 per person and covers lunch and dinner for the duration of our event. This breaks down to just under $22 per day. The other meal plan is $148 per person and covers breakfast, lunch and dinner for the duration of the convention. This breaks down to just under $30 per day. You can reserve meal plans for everyone in your party when you reserve your room by calling 800-588-7222.

Rooms are equipped with refrigerators, and microwaves are available in the lobby. We do hope that you will choose to eat with us at Ridgecrest so we can enjoy fellowshipping together around the table. This will also allow for a more relaxed daily schedule for you. Al-la-carte meal options are not available. You must reserve your meal plan no later than July 15.

Commuters

Due to security policies, there can be no “day of” or “walk up” attendees for the convention. If you are not staying at Ridgecrest, you must call 800-588-7222 to purchase an event pass for $25. This event fee gives you access to the Ridgecrest grounds for the entire convention. You must register no later than July 15.

Travel

Ridgecrest is conveniently located right off Interstate 40. If you are flying to the event, we recommend you fly into the Asheville, N.C. airport, which is approximately 30 minutes from Ridgecrest. The Charlotte airport is approximately two hours away. Guests are responsible for their own transit from the airport to the conference center. Because of our limited staff, we will not be able to offer a shuttle. However, for your convenience, a list of airport transportation services is available at acgc.us/triennial under the heading “Air Travel.”

Business and Elections

As always, we will be conducting critical denominational business and electing people to serve on the Executive Council. This year, we will have business items addressing some changes to the ACGC bylaws, changing the amendment process for the Declaration of Principles and the Statement of Faith.

The delegate body will also consider the adoption of the Nashville Statement. This is a comprehensive statement affirming a biblical view of human sexuality. To learn more, visit cbmw.org/nashville-statement. This statement has been adopted by more than 24,000 Christian leaders and institutions.

All business items must be submitted to the Business Committee before they can come before the delegate body. If you have an item of business, please contact Business Committee Chair Rev. Calvin Leavitt at 515 S Main St., Salemburg, NC 28385 or e-mail: pastorcal68@gmail.com.

If you wish to submit any names to the Nominating Committee, please contact committee chairman, Rev. Nathaniel Bickford, 9 School Street, Whitefield, NH 03598 or e-mail: nathaniel@thebickfords.net.

Necrology Reports

If you wish to recognize ministers or missionaries who have fallen asleep in Jesus since the last triennial session, please submit their name, picture and biography to Nancy Brooks, PO Box 690848, Charlotte, NC 28227. E-mail: nancybrooks@acgc.us at least two weeks before the convention.

We have a beautiful location, a great facility, edifying workshops, excellent keynote speakers, important business to discuss and wonderful times of worship and fellowship. All we need is you. We do hope you’ll join us for the 2023 Triennial Convention.
