Presenting a 50-Year Service Medallion

Last week I had the opportunity to go to the Advent Christian Village and participate in their Fall board meeting. It is always a pleasure to go back to ACV – to visit with old friends and catch up on Village life. It is truly amazing how the staff in all departments of ACV responded to hurricane Idalia. The ministry of ACV has continued despite the devastation to the property, buildings and homes throughout the Village and surrounding area. The clean-up is far from complete, but they are well on their way to getting things back in order. The reports say that they lost close to 3,000 trees on the Village property and many more for members who live near campus. The outpouring of support from the large ACV family has been amazing. Gifts go a long way in helping with the deductible and areas that are not covered by insurance. If you would like to help the Village, visit acvillage.net and you will find information on how you can give.

While I was at the Village, I attended the Village Church and gave Rev. Gene Peters and his wife Sandy a 50-Year Medallion celebrating their ministry to Advent Christian churches and youth-serving camps. I encouraged everyone to consider full-time Christian service. There were several people present that could attest to the ministry of both Gene and Sandy and their encouragement and ministry to us while we prepared for Christian service. It was a privilege to be the one to present this award to them.

  1. Coach Peters and Mrs. Sandy are treasures! Coach is such a great motivational speaker and was very impressionable on my life and many others as teen campers during our summers at Camp Dixie in Fayetteville, NC. May God continue to richly bless them both during the 4th Quarter – IFYKYK! Congratulations on this 50 year ministry milestone!!!
