As we move forward during our county’s sixth week of stay-at-home order, we want to express our appreciation for your prayers and the support we have received. It is odd to come into the office alone, to not be traveling around the country spending time with our leaders and to adjust to a new normal in how we serve our local AC churches. I continue to meet weekly with our superintendents and we all feel blessed that our pastors and churches are responding with so much passion for their communities and continued support for each other.

On a personal level, the past few weeks have been a huge rollercoaster ride for Karen and me. After making the trip down to check on her parents and deciding it was time for Karen to be closer to them, God has been opening and closing doors rapidly. Yesterday we packed up most of our belongings to take down to our new home in Fernandina Beach, Fla. Our plans are to take ownership of the home on Thursday and move Karen in to begin her new role there with her parents. I will be continuing to live in Charlotte and serving as Executive Director of ACGC. I will travel down on weekends when I am not on the road. This will be a big adjustment for both of us. We covet your prayers as our son Bradley and I remain behind and as Karen seeks God’s guidance on a job and what her new role will look like. Doing all of this during the pandemic has been both a blessing and a stressor, but God has been with us through it all.

I have met with the Executive Council and appreciate their willingness to work with me through this transition. Please be in prayer for our staff and partners as we work together to prepare for the Triennial Convention when we are ready to reschedule.

We know that God is in control and believe that he will work all things together for his good even during these difficult times.
