Consider MTI

This past week, I spent a lot of time working on Executive Council reports. This involved looking back over the last six months and evaluating where we are and how we are moving forward. As I did this, I was excited to realize our first class of MTI students are finishing up their second class and preparing to begin their next session. Also, we are recruiting for the second group of students to begin the three-and-a-half-year program. We already have a number of students committed to begin, but we need your help as we move forward.

First, if you feel led to pursue ministry or church leadership, please pray about becoming a student in the Ministry Training Institute. You can learn more about this at mtiprogram.com. Here you can connect with a field director near you. These classes are designed not only to develop pastors, missionaries and church planters, but they are also useful for deep-dive discipleship.

Second, do you know of an emerging leader in your church or conference that may benefit from this program? If you know of leaders who you believe God is calling into ministry, contact them and encourage them to check out MTI.

The Need is Great

Over the last few weeks, I have had conversations with our superintendents about current pastors who are planning to retire in the near future. We already have churches that have been looking for pastors for many months. We shared the fact two years ago that a large percentage of our pastors are within 10 years of retirement. Our leadership crisis is very real and we must encourage our emerging leaders who believe God has a calling upon their lives.

Please pray for the development of the MTI Program and for the students who will be participating. Also encourage those you know are attending or planning to attend; it is vital that they feel our support and prayers as they move forward.
