Triennial Convention to Be Held Fully Online

The ACGC Triennial Convention scheduled for April 21-23, 2021 will be held as a fully virtual event. The Executive Council made this decision last week after consultation with various conference and regional leaders. The convention was originally scheduled to take place in August 2020, but was rescheduled for April 2021 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Rising infection rates, increasing governmental restrictions on travel and mass gatherings and the apprehension many of our church members and leaders have about traveling have made it difficult to plan for an in-person event. Therefore, the Executive Council has decided it is best to move forward with an online event.

In order to allow maximum participation from around the country, all Triennial events such as reports, business meetings and services will take place in the evening. An official notice and delegate registration form will go in the mail soon, and online delegate registration will be available by the end of February. When finalized, the full schedule will be made available at the website, acgc.us/triennial, along with proposed business items and bios for those whose names will appear on the ballot for various positions.

The WHFMS national convention will also take place fully online. That event will occur in the afternoon of Saturday, April 24. Details will be made available as soon as they are finalized.

Revenue Exceeds Budget for 2020!

We praise God for the faithfulness he exhibited through the generous giving of our churches and individual donors in 2020. We are excited to report that last year’s giving to United Ministries, Penny Crusade, Christmas in October and First Responders all exceeded budget and also surpassed 2019 totals! For instance, our budgeted revenue for Penny Crusade was $483,000 and donations were $506,829.46. Overall, donation income was 7% higher than budgeted. With that extra income, along with savings on travel and meetings, we were able to continue and even expand the vital ministries of leadership development and mission work around the world. We also put some funds back into reserves for future use.

We are thankful for all our faithful supporters.

Penny Crusade 2021

The 2021 Penny Crusade material, “A Great Light,” is now available online at www.pennycrusade.com. The printed materials will mail out to our churches this week, so be on the lookout for them. This year’s material focuses on our outreach to six different unreached people groups around the world. There are also some new features this year such as an Advocate Guide, which gives step-by-step instructions on rolling out Penny Crusade at your church. Also new is a Social Media Challenge designed to create buzz and bolster online giving.

Please let us know if you need any extra materials or if there is any way we can be of help. You can contact us at acpub@acgc.us or give us a call at 704-545-6161.
