The Answer is Jesus

As we go through Holy Week in preparation for Easter Sunday, the overcasting shadow of the pandemic may reflect the original week before the crucifixion and resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. As the tide changed from Palm Sunday, celebrating Christ’s coming into Jerusalem, to his trial and crucifixion, there must have been an emerging shadow over the crowds anticipated the Passover. This prophet and teacher Jesus – who was he and how was he going to change their world? Even as we think about the love of Christ and his willingness to face calvary to provide our salvation, we may have a lingering feeling of despair and concern over the threat of COVID-19 and what it means for our lives and the world. The answer is the same for us as it was for them, Jesus!

It is important that each of us share the hope we have in Christ, especially during these difficult times. The world still needs to experience the power and strength that comes from knowing Jesus Christ and the plan of salvation he provided for us. People need to see God’s hand in our lives guiding us through the hills and valleys, especially when facing a struggle like the pandemic. Our churches, pastors and believers have been given opportunities to share their faith because of how they live in the midst of this crisis. When we are able to live at peace even when facing the threat of a pandemic, in personal crisis, or even through persecution is a testimony that speaks to our world and leaves them wanting what we have in our lives.

Easter provides an open door to share our faith and testimony of what our relationship with Christ means and how it brings us peace. Pray that God will open our eyes to these opportunities and give us boldness to share our faith with a world that needs to know Jesus Christ.
