Alabama Church Joins Georgia Conference

This past weekend I had the privilege of attending the Georgia Conference meetings. I grew up in the Georgia Conference and it was like going home for me. The meetings were held at Holton Chapel AC Church in Soperton, Georgia. Conference President Rev. Clint Hutchinson led the meetings with representation from most of the churches in the conference. Superintendent Rev. Joe Pritchett and I gave greetings and reports from SACA and ACGC, but hearing the reports from the churches blessed me the most. It was great to hear that their congregants were coming back and churches were moving forward in worship.

A real positive that came out of these meetings was the welcoming of the Hopewell Advent Christian Church from Leesburg, Alabama into the conference. The Alabama Conference disbanded a few years ago with just two churches. Both churches have continued to participate in the Southern Region, but could not be considered active members because churches must be part of a conference. Hopewell requested membership in the Georgia Conference and the delegate body voted unanimously to welcome them.

Pray for our Camping Ministries

Please remember our camping ministry throughout the denomination. We have seen great numbers of campers at our camps, but have experienced some issues with the pandemic. All of our camps have taken safety measures and reacted quickly when issues have arisen. Summer camping is a vital ministry to our young people and families. Please pray for the ongoing camps as they minister to campers and counselors for the next few weeks.
