Alton Bay Selects New Board

Executive Director Steve Lawson

This past weekend I had the privilege of attending the Alton Bay Camp annual meeting. On Friday evening, the board gathered and finished up items of business before the meeting and a new board would be selected. It has been a busy year working with this board through the struggles with the pandemic and continuing to minister to the cottage owners. This summer, camps and retreats were able to resume and it was a blessed summer enjoyed by both the residents of the cottages and those visitors. During the meeting, members heard updates from various committees related to the ministry of Alton Bay and had opportunity to ask questions and share concerns about needs for the campground. During this time, the new board created a list of action items they will deal with in their meeting in September.

The new board consists of:

Gary Nickerson, Chairman
Marty Williams, Vice Chairman
Sarah Rice, Secretary
Jay Croteau, Treasurer
John Harper, Member-at-Large
Courtney Pederson (new member)
Nick Granitsas (new member)
Greg Twitchell, Eastern Regional Superintendent
Steve Lawson, ACGC Executive Director

ACGC, Berkshire Discuss MTI’s Direction

On Monday, Berkshire president Glenn Rice, Leadership Development coordinator Matt Larkin and I met at Meeting House Village in Kittery, Maine. Advent Christian Retirement Communities executive director Larry Knowles was a great host, allowing us to use the conference room on the southern campus and treating us to a fabulous lunch at a local restaurant. We gathered to discuss Ministry Training Institute (MTI) and the partnership between Berkshire Christian and ACGC. The MTI Program continues to grow and be a blessing to those students participating and to the leaders working with them. During our meeting, we discussed how this program can continue to develop and the direction in which our partnership will move. The critical need for pastors, missionaries and church planters has been increased due to the pandemic and the ongoing struggles current pastors are facing. Please continue to pray for God people to respond to the call on their lives to enter into ministry and leadership of our churches.
