Gas Stove Gives Hope Amid Flood

MYANMAR – Our Asia/Pacific Area Director recently held a Zoom meeting with our leaders in the Advent Christian Conference of Myanmar. During the meeting, Pastor Timothy went outside and showed the group the flooding in his compound caused by the recent heavy rains. This has proved challenging to their compound, which houses their church, family residence and orphanage.

One of the challenges relates to meal preparation. Due to the unreliability of electricity since the military coup last year, meals are being cook by wood on an open fire. You can imagine the difficulty that presents their ministry when there are 8-10 inches of water throughout the mission compound, including the cooking area. As a result of some recent unplanned gifts to Myanmar, Pastor Timothy was able to purchase the new gas cook stove and gas that they were praying about. Pictured with the new stove are Timothy’s very happy wife and oldest son.
