Georgia Conference Holds Annual Meeting in Vidalia

GEORGIA – The Georgia Conference of Advent Christian Churches held its 137th conference meeting July 22-23 at Vidalia Advent Christian Church in Vidalia, Georgia. Friday, Rev. Ken Adams of Impact Ministries (impactdisciples.com) presented a four-hour workshop on becoming a disciple making church for more than 20 participants from Georgia churches. Friday night, a worship service featured congregational singing and a message from Catherine Rybicki of ACGC from 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

Saturday Rev. Clint Hutcheson, Georgia Conference president, presided over the business meeting, which was attended by 36 delegates. One highlight of the meeting was the recognition of two new churches entering the conference, Hopewell Church (Leesburg, Ala.) and Valley Community Church (Attalla, Ala.). Conference churches also shared reports of their ministry successes over the last year. For example, The Refinery in Waycross, Ga. distributed 41,490 pounds of food serving 1,047 households and 2,571 people.

Ministerial licenses were renewed and new officers were elected: Rev. Clint Hutcheson, President; Rev. Nathan Dean, Vice-President; Mrs. Kristi Hames, Secretary; Mr. Brent P. Ross, Treasurer; Rev. M.L. Barber, Ministerial Chair; Mr. Burley Page, Business Chair.
