Hakata Agape House Celebrates 14th Anniversary, Feeds the Homeless and Goes Strawberry Picking!

Hakata Agape House 14th Thanksgiving Celebration

JAPAN – Hakata Agape House (led by Rodel and Juliette Baylon) celebrated their 14th anniversary on April 7, 2024. Rodel’s sister Rowena Cabrizos, co-founder of Agape House Worldwide ministries, says that they are “thanking God for the success of this celebration, and we thank you for praying with us.”

More than 50 people attended the celebration, which was held at a public community center in Hakata, Japan. Most of those in attendance were Filipino nationals working in Japan. The guest speaker was a pastor from Cebu, in the Philippines, who has ministered to the Cabrizos family for more than two decades. The Word of God was shared, looking at Psalms 125:1, with the theme of Agape House, “UNSHAKABLE.”

After the worship service, the group moved to a nearby park to continue the celebration with eating a meal together among the beautiful Cherry Blossoms. It was a wonderful time for fellowship among long-time friends and brethren in Christ, to pray together and worship together.

Glory to his name!

Feeding the Homeless

Every Thursday, Hakata Agape House partners with a pastor from Nigeria who is living and working in Japan to feed the homeless with bread and drinks. In addition to this, Hakata Agape House has organized a monthly feeding program where they prepare homemade meals to feed the homeless in the Hakata area.

Rowena says, “We thank God for the lives of our volunteers and for the Bread of Life ministries. The Lord knows how to bless you. Please keep praying that this regular activity will harvest souls for his kingdom.”

Praise the Lord for all the hard work of the volunteers who prepare the food for this feeding program, and for the incredible generosity of the Bread of Life ministries, which funds these feeding programs.

May the Lord continue to bless Hakata Agape House and the homeless in the Hakata area through these events!

Strawberry Picking

One of the highlights of Hakata Agape House during the months of February and March each year is strawberry picking (inside a greenhouse)! This is a wonderful time for everyone to pause amidst their busy schedules in life, and it brings opportunities to invite newcomers into the church. It also opens doors for new friendships and acquaintances.

It was a time of fellowship that will hopefully lead to new believers in Christ.
