Hunger Relief in Mozambique

MOZAMBIQUE – When ACGC received reports of drought and hunger in Mozambique, funds were released from our World Hunger/Emergency Relief Fund to assist in this crisis.

Samuel Kasakatira, conference president of the Maranatha Conference in Mozambique, traveled to reach those in need and distribute hunger relief. Along with Samuel, three others joined the distribution efforts – Luka Dezmata, Oliver Thedzi and Yesaia Mandua. They worked tirelessly to reach those in need, as the dry spell the region is facing is a bad one. January and February are the months in which rain is typically expected, but up to now there has been no rain.

Samuel says, “We give our hope to the Lord Jesus!!!”

They were able to provide aid to many people, including some elderly ladies who are unable to work in their fields.

In Dovu village, many gathered to receive the much-needed relief distribution. One woman spent two days without eating by the time Samuel and the others met with her and her children.

There were even some Bibles and hymnals given to some of the pastors they visited.

The government official Councilor Bara of Villanova ward called Samuel to thank the church and the brothers in America for the hunger relief support.

Praise the Lord for all he has done! We are thankful for the provision of the Lord in this time of trial and tribulation, and we are thankful for all our donors who make relief efforts such as these possible.

Continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in Mozambique who struggle with drought and hunger. Pray that rain comes soon, and that the Lord provides nourishment to all who are in need.
