Conference President Bertin Mwanya was asked by one of the DRC churches to hold a three-day workshop for children’s ministry leaders. This workshop was held on January 22 – 24, 2020 at Horeb Center in Lubumbashi.

Bertin’s focus was on the involvement and need to reach out to street children and victims of sexual abuse in their communities. The numbers continue to rise for kids in such situations due to family instability, domestic violence and economic degradation.

The workshop training identified the need of a child, the child’s rights and his or her protection. This training was supported by Scripture that stresses the Lord’s value for children. There were 60 participants, and they formed 15 groups of four people. These groups will be implementing methods to connect with the needy, destitute children and point them to God.
