Penny Crusade 2020

By now all our North American churches should have received the 2020 Penny Crusade packet. Last year, nearly 40 percent of our North American churches did not participate in Penny Crusade. I’m sure there are many reasons for this. Here, I want to share some motivations for at least considering participation – and if your church already participates, perhaps these will strengthen your efforts:

  • Penny Crusade shows missional unity. A united effort in missions is an expression of the oneness we have with Christ and with each other.
  • Without Penny Crusade, our missionaries wouldn’t be able to serve. Penny Crusade provides needed resources such as salaries, benefits and travel expenses.
  • Without Penny Crusade, our ministry partners would be forced to greatly reduce their ministry or close. Penny Crusade supports the ongoing ministries of partners like Christian Mission ban Naratchakwai (Thailand) and Oro Bible College (Philippines).
  • Penny Crusade provides the support network needed for missions. Missionaries and ministry partners need a support team to provide oversight, guidance, accountability and encouragement. Our missions staff fulfills these important roles.
  • Penny Crusade is a simple, accessible way to obey the Great Commission. Not all are sent as missionaries, but all can be informed enough through Penny Crusade to participate through prayer and giving.
  • Penny Crusade can help a church shift from a survival focus to an outward focus. If you’re worried about holding on for dear life, you won’t take the risks of faith Jesus calls us to take.

Penny Crusade giving goes 100 percent toward our international missions work. Please consider making Penny Crusade a part of your church’s missions work today!
