Mozambique

The Maranatha Advent Christian Conference (Mozambique) had suffered a split, but thanks to perseverance in prayer and in peace-making, they are once again united. They have installed a new conference president who serves them as a bishop. Six of the separated pastors are seen here with the new president.

Pastor Samuel Kasakatira takes this office having demonstrated the heart of a servant and gained the trust of all the pastors. With its reunification, Mozambique now becomes one of our largest conferences with 52 churches.

Tanzania

Once again, the government in Tanzania has issued orders against meeting together, this time because of the coronavirus threat. An exception to this mandate is the meeting of the Advent Christian Churches in Mwanza County who have found favor with the government. When Internet meetings and teachings are not possible, they simply spread out more and wash their hands. The church is open all day for people to come when they deem the coast to be clear. Pastor Odoyo meets them there and blesses them with encouragement and prayer. A new thirst is being evidenced for lives to surrender to the lordship of Jesus Christ.

Kenya

Pastor Ondieki is now dealing with 70 orphans who are home all day due to the closure of schools under the threat of COVID-19. His word of faith is centered in Psalm 30:5: “… weeping endures for the night, but joy comes in the morning.” He writes, “As surely as the Lord lives and keeps his Word, weeping is going to cease in Kenya.”
