News from Mexico

Pastors Marcos Luna and his wife Gloria, serving at Iglesia Casa de Restauracion (Ensenada Church), organized and sponsored a weekend Marriage Conference. They were able to hold it in a larger location, allowing room for the 12 couples from their church and other area churches to take advantage of the conference. The guest speakers, Pastor Enrique Becerra and his wife Paty, originally from Colombia, are currently living in Mexico City and ministering in various parts of the country. Their schedule allowed them to spend a week in Ensenada to minister to the couples in the church.

Coronavirus

Yes, even here in Mexico the virus is an issue. The number of cases and deaths are less than in the United States – however, many of the same precautions are being taken. Several of our pastors have taken to electronic means to communicate with the congregations. Special considerations are also in place for the elderly. Praise the Lord that the Maine Team from Oxford Advent Christian Church that was with 99 Plus 1 during the outbreak of the virus was able to return stateside to their homes before the border crossing restrictions. Some border restrictions are in place, but I don’t believe the current restrictions will affect my crossing when necessary, since I have a “permanent resident” status in Mexico and business requirements on both sides of the border.
