Burundi

Following a national presidential election wherein Evariste Ndayishimiye was named the winner with 68 percent of the vote, there were the predicted protests of corruption in the balloting. The supreme court ruled the results to stand and so the shooting began. In the face of a crippling virus, humanity knows of ways to increase the hurt and the damage. We have not yet heard from our churches concerning their own health in this troublesome time.

Tanzania

The eight-member family of Pastor Johnson Odoyo all have dry coughs, fever, weakness and other symptoms of COVID-19. He asks for our prayers for deliverance from this sickness.

Liberia

Churches have not met together for many weeks during this pandemic. Without the benefits of internet connections, the fellowship is cut off at its knees. They prayerfully hope to resume public worship as “state of emergency” restrictions were expected to lift on June 9.

Malawi

Conference President Cliff Maclean reports having visited some of our churches and finds the virus to be spreading further. What makes little sense is that presidential elections are scheduled for June 23. Political rallies in keeping with those elections are massive, and photos reveal that very few people are wearing masks. Eighty-two percent of the public believe that hunger is a greater threat to them than COVID-19. 

Kenya

Pastor Samuel Ondieki is pleased to announce the arrival of a new mother cow to Mercy Home Orphanage. This bovine miracle renders 15 liters of fresh milk a day to help nourish the 72 children at the home.
